Asphalt & Chip Seal Pavements
Pavement Surfacing Services
Arrow supplies and places 10,000 tonnes of asphaltic concrete each year for jobs that vary from pothole repairs to 15,000 square metre industrial carparks and driveways. Asphaltic concrete – call it hotmix, tarmac, black stuff, asphalt, flexible pavement – we do it!

Arrow’s approach to remedial work for existing pavements is;
- Site inspection by an experienced pavement project manager (professional engineer, surveyor or surfacing foreman) with the client to:
a. Understand the problems and remedial expectations
b. Based on industry good practice, recommend the scope of remedial work (dig outs, drainage, saw cutting, crack repairs, overlays, edge restraint, etc)
c. Measure the work required
- Provide a competitive written quote for the work – potential variations relative to unknown subsurface conditions are identified
- Have one of our experienced civil engineering crews undertake the remedial work
- Complete all work to a high quality standard using appropriate materials and equipment – pavers rollers and hand tools
- Inspect the work, rework any blemishes, and ensure the client is satisfied

Arrow’s approach to new pavements is:
- Review plans and specifications to understand what is required
- Site inspection, measure as required, and competitive written quote
- Good communications with the earthwork contractor to understand when the basecourse will be prepared and ready for asphalt
- When practical, inspection of the prepared basecourse surface to confirm that it is ready for asphalt
- Membrane chip seal as required – for larger jobs a specialist subcontractor is used
- Tack and blind then supply and placement of asphaltic concrete – supplied and placed in conformance to good industry practice guided by Transit specifications
- Inspection and minor tidy up work as required to ensure the client is satisfied
- Line marking as required.
